I have a longstanding personal passion for law and ethics which, from the get-go has shaped my career and given me the opportunity to assist people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. I have always seen Family Law as a complex and multi-faceted legal discipline that can positively impact the lives of everyday people and I approach my practice with this mindset on a day-to-day basis. For these same reasons, criminal law really intrigued me in the early stages of my career. I always had a great deal of admiration and respect for the Innocence Project, and before I was admitted as a solicitor, I had the privilege of working with them directly to free innocent people suffering as the result of wrongful conviction.

As I moved my focus to family practice, I saw an opportunity to really promote a person’s right to autonomy, safety and self-determination in daily life. After being admitted as a solicitor in 2012, I joined Legal Aid Queensland, where I predominantly represented clients who were the victims of domestic violence, and after moving to one of Brisbane’s premiere boutique family law firms, I supported those with less access to representation through volunteer work at the Caxton Legal Centre and Women’s Legal Service.

It has been a privilege to act for such a diverse group of people and I take pride in the representation and support I have provided them. Family Law is unique in that every single case is different, and requires consideration and empathy to the individual parties involved. As a Family Lawyer, you must understand a broad array of legal disciplines and apply them to personalised cases. This challenge ensures that you are always learning and closely engaged with individual clients.

Everyday I get to work with real people, helping them to make informed decisions and setting them on a positive path moving forward. This aspect of my work is incredibly fulfilling and informs my passion for parenting matters. These matters are often sensitive and complex, and require a big picture approach to tailor positive solutions. It is especially rewarding to work closely with a client, employ personalised problem solving and reach the best possible resolution for them and their family as they move towards a more positive stage of their lives.

As a part of the Pullos Lawyers team, I know my respect for clients and dedication to achieving positive outcomes will always be valued and supported. As a close-knit, industry leading team of family lawyers, we always look forward to supporting our clients and ensuring that they achieve lasting positive outcomes.

If you’re looking to resolve a family law matter, please contact Pullos Lawyers and ask for Jessica, it would be my pleasure to assist you.
